Kain breathed a sigh. For some reason or another, the demon found himself speaking the truth.

"He is my ward. I swore to my King that I would protect him with my life as my King had with mine. My King was like a brother to me. Aiden was the least I could do in return...He is what is left of my dead King."

A familiar sounding pain came to his tone.

Daemon closed his eyes with a solemn smile on his face.

"Your king was dear to you? I must admit, you are a valiant young man yourself. I commend you on your promise and your will power dear Kain."

He opened his eyes again the smile fading, a broken saddened tone seeped into his threat. "I am not a man of justice and I am only here to please my whims. You will suffer for your impudence in averting me from my prey. Prepare yourself."

Kain gave Daemon a sympathetically sad smile, before an unsettling coldness settled in his eyes.

"Aye, I am."

With that the black appendages again shot out from his back and with speed drove towards Kain.
