...Another one of my favourites. x) My partner helped me greatly with these two, both with the descriptions and the personalities. (As for musical influence, the song 'Wanksta' by 50 Cent comes to mind, lol)...Now then, there's a trick with Skids's outfit. Can you guess them both? One is what it says on the jersey (which is the obvious trick) but that will lead/hint to the second. (Another hint: the colour of the jersey. That's it.
)...Oh, i think i remember something about them being white. Um, oops?

I translated what it says on Skid's jersey, and it says "Futbol Cybertrono". Now what?

I used the cybertronianΒ alphabet to translate it. All I know for the second one is that the jersey is colored white. What else is there?Β Β

I love these! I think you did an amazing job with Skids' outfit, and especially his teeth. Mudflap too, I love how he looks with the hoodie!
As for the whole 'white guys acting black' thing, I honestly think that Mudflap and Skids are neither white OR black. In the first movie in the Michael Bay series, Optimus Prime stated that the Autobots had learned the English language via 'The World Wide Web'. I think (this is only my opinion), that Skids and Mudflap only talk 'ghetto' because because that was the form of language that they learned from the internet. I know a lot of blog pages that are written in nothing but snoop-doggy-dog form, so maybe that's where they learned their lingo?

And I agree with you there as far as race is concerned. (They could have been yellow with purple polka-dots and it wouldn't have bothered me none.) And you bring up a good point that probably a lot of people forgot about around the time the second movie came out. And we all know how grammatically correct most popular websites strive to be.

...Thanks! I've been told that originally the inspiration for the characters were supposed to be white guys. Hmm, maybe one of these day I'll sketch up a new version of these two and tinker with the skin colour.

...Well, when you think about it, even though Skids and Mudflap portrayed a certain type of culture, can you really prove that they were being racist? They're robots. So when people were complaining about how "racist" they were, I honestly was confused.

Hahaha, oh gosh, I saw this and at first wasn't sure by the thumbnail, but now...wow, this is pretty good. I actually LOVED Mudflap and Skids *dodges bricks* and I think this is an awesome interpretation of the two Autobot Hooligans. XD I've been meaning to try and doodle them again (did it once, looked really wonky but it was months ago in some weird TFA...look.) but I do think they need more lurve.
Sadly I am horribad with guessing games. So I cannot guess. :C

Hehe, well again, they are awesome and I still want to try my hand. Since I like to mix stuff up, I am going to attempt to take a look at their G1 selves...though i'm not sure how well that is going to fly considering...mostly because I have all ready been set with these two and do not know much of the others, argh. My imagination is on a crash course for destruction, lol.

I never got so angry at those two like the critics and everyone else, they were really just the part that I didn't pay attention to. Though I do like them being black in their human designs--it suits them, and we need more black people in cartoons.
One day I'm going to make an entire ongoing cartoon or webcomic series without a single white man in sight. Maybe. Probably not though.

...Yeah, same here, in fact I never knew they were so 'controversial' until I logged onto the internet. lol When it comes to drawing humans, I keep to a rule about drawing in different colours (this is no exception to humanizations!). To seem that they're skinny white kids acting 'gangsta' would be an oh-too-funny yet lazy insult in my viewpoint. You need to make then fit with what they originally seemed, and work with that. Thank you! ^^
