Description
There's a story inside each of us.It burns, it yearns to be set free.
A world whirling, whipping 'round,
Honester than what we've found
Is easier to say and think;
A world teet'ring o'er the brink
'Tween lies we speak
And truths we sink,
'Till we can't sleep a wink.
The reality we hold within
Is complex, messy, paper thin.
We guard it, hide it,
Love it, fight it.
Fear decides
Who gets to peek--
For these we seek:
Those souls who need not hear us twice,
Nor shrink from what's behind our eyes.
It's all of us,
And none at all.
We stand, we fight,
We strike, we fall,
We wish to die,
But curl and cry--
Too strong to break,
Too weak to try.
Why do we so valiantly hide
That precious, shining truth inside?
Why stay we our hearts and hands?
Do questions make us lesser men?
Does kindness make us frail and weak?
Can mere words break the strongest link?
Does faith make us afraid to speak?
Does fear give courage to the meek?
Seconds pass
And stars whisk by;
Our Earth careens through someone's sky--
Someone far, alone, and sad;
Someone who, sometimes, is glad.
And mad, and good, and kind, and bad.
Whose blood is red,
Whose eyes are blue.
Just the same as me or you.
