In fact, it was planned to make in acrylics, but I'm not experienced now, and I was really eager to paint something about him (at this moment I'm busy in drawing other things, which aren't permitted to upload elsewhere but the main site because of reserved rights ) - so I made it in digital! ^__^ fast, sketchy, but it's right what I intended to show
About the shading, I made shadows more intense by using image/adjustments/levels
and to add those red nuances, I used the 'multiply' mode for the brush - about the rest, is painted on just two layers, starting with desaturated colours and enhancing them step by step.

And about your consideration, I'm really happy you recognize 'him' in this expression I mean: by my point of view, I see him being: cool, beautiful, strong, but sweet at the same time. You know, I don't like many versions I see around...

Your very right, I see him the same way... but not like he is too sweet, just enough you know..... strong and fearless.
haha some times the way people portray Itachi is very much out of character, believe me I've seen em' all! (running this club for 5 yearsXD)
It doesn't happened very often where I see a piece of artwork and think "thats him, his feeling"
But it's still interesting to see how people take him out of context, it's the way people read him, an illusion.
A lot of people to don't really know Itachi and just draw him because they think he looks cool and popular (unfortunately!)
But yes and I totally know what you mean

sì, ci ho messo un paio d'ore, non di più il fatto è che avevo in mente di farlo a pennello (l'avevo già abbozzato su un foglio, dove lavoro), ma causa carenza di colori sufficenti (ho solo i primari+B/N) e di voglia di cimentarmi con una tecnica nuova per me, mi son buttata su Photoshop avendo bene in mente cosa fare

Yes! I thought about this picture with the intention to make it in traditional way (acrylics, or better), but I was too much eager to make a new Itachi pictureeee so I made it in digital

No, I have never used oils, but I'm sure I'd like to do it I tried out with oil pastels, but I prefer to be free to paint more details, so... I tried to melt pastels with turpentine, linseed oil (for hair ), ah ah! what a mess - I'll buy oils, surely

Same for me - I can't use pastels because I wand details...

I tried oils, but all my enthusiasm was killed by the need to wash all the brushes, and workspace, and hands (and clothes - in my case %)) with spirit... I'm too lazy for that )) (And - I couldn't bear with such a waste of good drinking spirit! %))

But working with it was really pleasant.

Here the good oil is also expencive

I used turpentine, but it has a strong and persistent smell (even though I like its resinous fragrance ^3^)

Simply wow. Where shall i even begin?

I'm impressed by the amount of detail and effort placed upon this piece of art work. The way you've manipulated that brush and colours.. is simply breath taking. Even tiniest of details couldn’t escape your sharp eye. The painting itself seems as if Itachi was flowing in a sea of air...while his hair is being swept away.

Simply beautiful.
