Once again, you know how to make flash not look like flash, which is a really good thing in my opinion.

thx for the opinion, i think a lot of people tend to think Flash can only animate flashlike animation, but its not true at all actually

njay In reply to weroblue [2010-02-04 16:43:35 +0000 UTC]

i use Flash Pro for the software. Other than that u need to be familiar with basic animation principles >.< if this is what u meant... i'm a full time animator so im facing animation everyday in front of my working desk...

hahaha its funny when you see those cuts in budget in animated productions, oh btw I made a new animation, I drew everything on flash, what do you think? : D

njay In reply to WunderWurld [2010-02-21 12:56:30 +0000 UTC]

i replied there, btw. do u prefer straight ahead or pose to pose animation? or both?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

WunderWurld In reply to njay [2010-02-21 21:31:41 +0000 UTC]

I work with pose to pose as much as possible, straight ahead can be fun but I usually run into colossal problems when I take a step back and look at the big picture, I usually work backwards too

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

njay In reply to WunderWurld [2010-02-22 05:00:13 +0000 UTC]

hahaha yes very very true XD straight ahead tend to make drawing proportion diffrent from the 1st frame, but i guess those who really get used to it perhaps can overcome/minimize it

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

WunderWurld In reply to njay [2010-02-22 06:46:05 +0000 UTC]

I think straight ahead works very well for broad action orientated animation, you need to get that energy out and into the animation as quick as possible, working from pose to pose is a more technical approach, so yeah I think they both have their places; principles not rules! : D

Come to think of it, you can't inbetween without working pose to pose, and action orientated stuff is usually comprised of a lot of keys alone, so that would explain why straight ahead works well there.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

njay In reply to WunderWurld [2010-02-22 14:29:37 +0000 UTC]

yea true , straight ahead is good for action scene. i tend to combine though :/ since if i rely too much on either style,my workflow would be slower.

even when i use a straight ahead technic, i tend to put few key pose2pose, just to remind myself of bodysize and especially the scene duration. somehow it became "straight thru poses", @.@

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

WunderWurld In reply to njay [2010-02-22 17:48:49 +0000 UTC]

well its alot easier in flash to make sure your character remains the correct size, it doesnt have the mess of bringing over the layout poses from different sheets of paper switching it out every frame like classical animation o.o

I usually leave various poses on a locked layer in flash to check proportions.

njay In reply to WunderWurld [2010-05-11 16:12:46 +0000 UTC]

@.@ im late replying again...
anyway, i guess using flash has becoming more easier than b4.and cheaper too...
