Hmm. I love this visually--your work is always spectacular--but even for a fantasy pic it's failing my suspension of disbelief because of the architectural mismatches.
I mean, if you're building a fortress that needs those protected towers with one narrow window and arrowslits and all, you don't also build all those ground-level/water-level open entrances that anyone could enter from the water (or a small boat) and sneak around unseen, whether to dig a way in or just plant a convenient petard.
Conversely, if your castle/city is so protected by magic/whatever that nobody can do anything to you from those lower levels, you wouldn't waste so much time, masonry, and blocked sunlight to build the giant battlemented towers.
And neither one makes sense of the gorgeous but inexplicable gate/sunshade/giant's climbing ladder all up the middle.
So while I love the sheer gorgeous massive sunset beauty of it all, I can't manage to suspend disbelief, any more than I can with, say, a huge pegasus stallion with pigeon-sized wings. Even fantasy needs its internal logic.
...Geez, I sound like I'm ranting, when what I'm actually doing is cocking one dubious eyebrow at you with a grin, plus explanatory footnotes.
Your fan, as always,

I looked at it, and said to myself, this should be a MtG card. Then I read the description Do you know what card it became?

That's got to be the most awesome fortress I have ever set eyes on.
And it's glowing, and surrounded by an almost impenetrable lake of water, most likely filled with acid-breathing dragon-gaters.
Yeah.
