they're NOT FURRIES! I just wanted to start by saying that... I'm not a furry or part of the furry fandom, I draw ANTHRO characters. There's a difference people!anyway, these are two of my characters; Spike (the wolf) and Sam (the golden retriver). They're from a graphic novel I'm working on.
This scene is just one of Sam's innocent little fantasies. You see, he's secretly in love with his best friend Spike but dares not tell him, because he's afraid of his own emotions and also afraid of how Spike might react (Spike tends to react violently to certain things).
It's a complicated story... and it's not just about Sam's crush. That's just a small part of it.
I was really nervous about submitting this picture. I've had it lying around for years and finally decided to color it yesterday. But I was nervous because of the slightly homosexual content, and I'm pretty sure some of you out there might react negative to it..
But I support homosexuality - or rather; I support love! So I don't really care much what you think. I just hope some of you tolerant people will like this picture somewhat..
That's all I had to say right now.
Oh, and please don't steal my characters..

Nice style. I don't support homesexuality (God's laws, morals, and all that stuff people would kill me for) but it I usually do my best to ignore someones orientation. In my opinon, don't ask, don't tell, and neither agree nor disagree. Keep it neutral. For those who will probably scorn me, I do know people who are gay. But, I'm not the kind of person that will say, "Your going to Hell for being gay" I leave it be.
Okay, I've given my useless two-cents. Onto my comment: The background gives a nice dream-like state. Your expressions bring life to your characters, especially the eyes! I like what the leash symbolizes, and perspective of the shoulders and hand. I only suggest making Spike's muzzle a little narrower. Wolves have narrow snouts, but Spike looks a bit more like a dog without his fluffy tail.

No, ItΒ΄s called "SPIKE", and sheΒ΄s trying to get it published...(I actually donΒ΄t know weather she alredy finished it...or weather itΒ΄s a graphic novel, for that matter)

Nice. Very nice. Naughty and tender at the same time. I love the soft watercolor effect you got. Low opacity on the brushes, right? I, too, support love regardless of the genders involved.
I'm one of those who uses "furry" and "anthro" interchangeably so I don't have a good grasp on he differences. As an artist of anthropomorphic characters myself I probably should know this. Could you elaborate on your definitions of the two terms?

Whenever I find out someone's gay I tend to react like, "Really? That's AWESOME!" and then I feel guilty cuz, you know, not every gay person is exactly the same and being gay pretty much tells nothing about who a person is and stuff. Dl

Another late comment, but I never figured the problem with the furries/anthro labels. I guess I'm lucky to live in a country that was never exposed to the bad stereotypes.
anyway, I don't define characters as furry. For me, characters are anthros: furries are the people who represent themselves as anthro or like to think of themselves as one. I know a few non-furries who draw exclusively anthro characters.
And to avoid wasting this comment on pseudo-academical rants: love your art, I just spent over an hour at work scouring both your galleries

As a 'furry' I just felt like saying, it's a major misnomer to call anthropomorphic characters furries, they aren't. Furries are humans who embody the enjoyment of the fandom. (Just a side note, I'd like to inform everyone that no, we don't all obsess over animal genitals and fursuits, you'll find that most of us enjoy the art and the playful personality of the 'fandom)
Other than that though, that's a damn awesome piece right there; rather suggestive too.
