Arc ventures into the online dating scene, but the results are not what he is expecting.Hope everyone likes this parody animation, I mostly made this as a side project to have some fun with the April Fool's holiday and to show case some of the fantastic voice actors I've been working with the last few years.

Indeed, I also have it posted on my youtube channel as well; as it's in a converted form (not flash) that people can use/view once that becomes no longer supported at the end of this year.
I might eventually get rid of these once we hit that point where they can no longer be viewed on DA, which sucks, but I get that it's technical stuff largely outside of most people's control.

Oh man, I forgot flash format is dying out on some websites. That is such a shame.
What other formats can animations be converted to if DA doesn't support these formats?

Indeed, it's a shame but Abode doesn't want to support it anymore (apparently it's getting outdated and newer programs are overtaking it). Well you can always convert flash files into MP4's which is what Youtube uses for instance, not sure if you can upload those directly to DA though. Also there's of course GIF's, but I think the animation has to be relatively short for that to work.
But yeah, I'll probably just link to the Youtube postings via journal once Flash is no longer supported, that way everyone can keep watching them if they want.

I thought his parts were some of the funniest as well, that voice actor is eventually going to be playing "Inspector Griggs", and he's really good at those quasi serious sounding characters that kinda talk with just slight oddities (subtle enough to be interesting or entertaining, but not so much that it's obnoxious).

I definitely recognize that you've been watching my page for a long time; I'm sorry I haven't released more full animations and have been relying more on concept art and text stories lately; I'm just worried that if I show to much that I'll "give away" the interesting parts, and by the time the real full project comes along I'll have given away all the best parts.
The new voice actors have been incredible though, I might have to task them with another side project sometime, I just have to think of something interesting premise wise.
Indeed, I went through a bit of that early this year and late last year; I found it to be kinda silly, hence I figured I'd make fun of it a bit.
Anyway, thanks for sticking around all these years, I really appreciate the support.

Yeah trust me your definitely not missing much, I tried that scene for a while and I wouldn't recommend it, ha ha.

Nice, though he was smiling a lot when it wasn't appropriate, and the voice acting was a little stilted in places. Yes, I know the bots weren't supposed to be real.

Yeah we kinda redid the poses for Arc in order so that he could do some scenes "sitting down" and haven't quite done all the variations on the "talking faces"; I'll keep working on it and probably the next time Arc appears with these poses they will be a bit more dynamic face wise (I just didn't have time before April Fools, which is when I wanted to release this).
Also the voice acting is a tad stilted here and there, though I still think the voice actors are doing a really good job compared to some of the voice acting I and my friends did in the past; these guys are definitely better at it. I'm sure in more important scripts they will bring an even better performance.

Was that Xerina on the second profile?! WHERE IS THIS DATING SITE? Hold on, why would Xerina need to use a dating site? All she has to do is smile! Actually, now that I think about it, she only smiles when she's looking down the barrel of a gun. On reflection maybe she does need a dating site.

Well it was a computer program pretending to be Xerina at least, ha ha; I really doubt she's the type of person to go on a dating site, she'd probably be happier challenging prospective partners to sparring matches and shooting contests and letting that being the main criteria for selection, ha ha ha.

Well I wanted it to kinda sound like Xerina's usual tough and commanding demeanor, hopefully it plays well into the humor side of things, ha ha.
I can remember when the "poem" played each time I logged into the internet; ancient days of riddles and magic the early internet was.
Yeah the voice actors really gave it their all in this one, I'm glad I started going with people who's primary thing is voice acting; the quality improvement is pretty clear and I think it allows me to focus more on the stuff I'm good at rather than trying something that I'm not good at (voice acting).

True, though obviously given the theme there were some who had to be left out of this one, it will be interesting to see if I can include them in other side animations in the future.
Of course, I would have never thought back then that the internet would ever work as well as it does now; things have certainly progressed quickly in that regard at least.

My experience with them wasn't great; it was either lots of fake (bot) accounts, or everyone ignoring you. Hence I wouldn't recommend em.

Well I suppose there are a lot of different websites, so it's possible you could find one that's better setup/run that the 2-3 that I was on; I'd just say buyer beware if you do, as they tend to over promise and under deliver.

the big problem i have with these dating sites is that they ask questions that i can not give a yes or no answer to. also i do not have the patience to "slide" over 10.000 people to find a possible match, not knowing or the account is still active.. also some info that i like to know is rarely shown.
let us not speak of bots, scammers and people who are just not good to have a relationship with.

Well another problem is that even if you do answer all the questions and fill out a profile, you'll run into tons of other profiles with barely any information on them; hence your stuck picking one or two obscure details they posted and trying to make a conversation from that (which rarely ever works).
And indeed, then there's the bots and scams; which just add a whole new layer of complexity that we wont even get into, ha ha ha.

i should think you should be able to write down some "personal description" that people can read quickly right under your picture. in which you can give a very short description of who you are. but yes it is hard to make a good dating site for everyone.

Indeed, but yeah I just decided to stop using em; was taking too much time and was getting very little back for my time investment, hence I decided to have a bit of fun with the concept using this animation.

Indeed, I mostly put this together from my brief and less than fortuitous experience using online dating forums; suffice to say, I am no longer an active member of any dating services at this time. Ha ha ha.
