Description We headed out to the desert yesterday, in search of the newly discovered comet Yi-Swan, but failed miserably. It was located below Cassiopeia (see if you can spot the constellation), to the right of the Double Cluster (which I couldn't see even through my binocs due to the glow). Even in the desert, the frustrating light doesn't go away.

This is a 30 second exposure @ ISO-400 and F/3.5.

The light pollution in the picture was actually greater and more diffused than this. I've toned it down a little here.

Constellations visible are Cepheus (above to right), Cassiopeia (above the second pylon if you haven't figured out already), Lacerta, Pegasus (above to left, doesn't seem too mighty here). Andromeda looks completely washed out.

Darn lights... it's same story here. The last remnants of dark skies are going away...
