Maybe you should try to enhanch some of the red and yellow colours, using "overlay", I messed arround with this for a couple of minutes, and got a good result by the use of "overlay" example: take a yellow a red and an orange colour, much similar to te colour of the suns rays, and set them as "overlay" fill them 20-30% perhaps less, if the pic gets too bright, do the same with the colour black, this could really enhanch the pic, but I also like strong colours.
