Description
I've been doodling the characters from "Probability Experiment" pretty much since I started writing it, because A. I enjoy doodling, and B. I'd planned from the outset to do an illustrated e-book version once I'm finally done writing the story proper. I hadn't really planned on putting the doodles up, since they're all on the rough side, but a couple folks have asked if I have any pictures of the characters, so what the heyThis is it - the first time I ever drew these characters, before I'd even written the post-TF part of the story. Stu in particular changed drastically once I started experimenting to find a "look" I liked for her. Also note the simple post-and-toroid shape for her winding key in the early sketches - I honestly don't remember if I came up with the idea of a clockwork automaton character as a literal wind-up toy before I was introduced to Nichijou and Nano Shinonome, or if she was a direct inspiration (I think the former, but that was almost nine years ago, if not longer - I barely remember what I had for dinner last night,) but she was definitely an influence once I did watch it, because the idea of an obviously non-human character desperately pretending to be completely ordinary will never not be hilarious to me XD
(Another obvious anime influence: Emma here is done the way I usually depict dullahans, with the "ethereal flame" thing that Kyoko Machi from Interviews With Monster-Girls has going on, as opposed to the traditional greasy black smoke. In-story, she ended up with something in-between.)
