Actually I can see why they'd like it because it actually makes you picture the sun move and the wind blowing thru the weeds.

well my goal in this shoot was oto gt some highlights in a backlit image!
and I got them in number I.
Number III (this one) just happened and I did not pay much attention to it.
Now that I think about it perhaps I should go back to those and see if there are more that I thought less of

you just have to keep your self open.
When we face a screen and not a pair of eyes it is easy to misunderstand typed word that were meant in a good way and interprete hostility or bitterness when there is none.

that's very true! when talkin to someone face to face you take your cues from the other person's eyes . . . with the written word it's so much harder

I hold a forum string and it is so funny how easily people get offened by discussions on... Harry Potter!!! it is unbelievable

I dunno if I like this one or the 'sunset IV' more.. hmm, I think I like them all. The colours are amazing and the blur at the background is really really great done!

ntora In reply to coffee-and-pepper [2007-09-18 08:24:58 +0000 UTC]
thank you.
The background blurr is actually due to the 200mm lens that I chose to use.
I like short focal pionts when it comes to sunsets.
It is much more common I think to use ranges and f stops that give the Ansel Adams all-in-focus effect. I like drawing the attention to the foregrownd wile still enjoiing the lovely sunset behind, that was the goal.
Glad you like it.

thank you
but they are different.
This is more of a sunset and the number II is my effort to get highlights on a backlit subject (a technical intention resulting into a much warmer image)

I have found that dA helps me a lot pushing me not to give up on a good artsy image when my eye is sore from looking through a viewfinder all day!
It is so easy to give up what should be a constant effort to enrich your portfolio when work takes the most out of you.
Thank you for the encouragement

This is fantastic!
It must have taken a helluva lotta skill to get the highlights in the foreground
Must still I must be annoying and say that this one is my favourite because I adore the contrast between focused and unfocused sillhouette
Amazing!!!

I always thought numbers II and IV had more intersting forground highlights but almost everyone loved III
THank you so very much for your kind words dear!
