Ladies and Gentlemen,I give you Maya! She is a 2 month old Beagle puppy!
My sister bought her this weekend and I had the pleasure of hosting her and tormenting her with my camera for 3 whole days!
This is her best protrait although I think I will submit a few more.
I think it is final: Dogs are my specialty and by far my fav subject!

I am actually taking her to the university clinic next week because there is a debate, the neurologists say that hypothyroidism can not cause epilepsy while the pathologist think it can!!! Whatever tis it is an interesting case and I am happy the dog has not had a seizure since she started the T4

well the only corelation is the possiblity of hypercholesterolemia (high blood cholesterol) due to the low T4 that might have led to the seizures.
Far fetched but not impossible.
If you can ask for any documented cases...

I will meet the Vet School Dean and pathology professor on monday about it. I do not have any cholesterol test before the T4 treatment unfortunatelly. I will have more about it after I talk to him. It is odd that thy have never had a case of epilepsy with hypothyroidism but I think it might be a small breed fault...

she is a maltese... know any breeds that have a genetic predisposition?

i went and looked it up but i don't think malteses are predisposed to hypercholesterolaemia. i do know that it's heritable, though...

dogs are soo cute!! they is only one dog that doesn;t like me, but it doesn;t like anyone (it was mal-treated beofre the current owners got it) and it kepes biting me!!>.< my dog scares people, he barks at dem!! lol dog that bark at me you just talk to dem and they shut-up and start wanting petted is wat i find usually..

it is sad to see doggies that have been hurt and are hateful...
you should just be kind and soft to them and very patient. I believe that they can come around and if not love you then at least respect you.

yeah i kno a fer dogs that were mal-treated, they usually soo cute if always makes me wonder wat sort of monster mal-treats dem... like i admit im not da best owner ever i hve on an odd occasion forgot to fed my dog but always fed him as soon as i realised and give him treats to make up!! ^^

but they say beagles need lots of space to feel confortable.. That's a problem in big cities.

well this lucky girl lives in the country side and she has a big yard to play in.
still in the city you can compensate the lack of space with long walks and excersize.
The breed you choose should match your life and time and what you like to do...

Beagles are so cool
I ve never met one (they are rare here) until my sister go this one!
She just wants to climb over you all the time! We tried to teach her to stay off people but she just woudnt so they have to keep her away form the kids. That is sad cause they love her!
Hopefully when she grows a bit she will calm down?
