I think someone messaged me on AO3 and was all "Oh you draw too right? Can you make a picture of the extent of John's bruising?" and I was all "YEAH SURE :'D"

I remembered I had these in my sketchbook for no apparent reason other than because I was thinking of plots and drawing at the same time.

John I'm so sorry.

Top: Okay so the one at the top there, my art teacher passed me and looked at that as I was finishing and was like "Jolene would you like to see the counsellor?" and I was all "Lol what? I'm just sketching, jesus." Basically John's thinking of escaping his daily hell. but always deciding against it. It's not that bad, right? This too shall pass.

Bottom left: fgdhsjdh Scene from the first chapter I think. The line went something like 'You'll never be able to get over all the discolouration that adorns your body" when he has the blanket around his hips and was getting ready for school in the bathroom. They particularly like to go after his back and shoulders.

Bottom right: I guess this is just an episode he has going on here. "There's something wrong! There's something so wrong but I don't know what, and fuck... it hurts."

So yeah, that awkward moment when you make art from your own story.

Sad much? Hahaha.
