Eventually fell in love with Mothtuft, and the two found a molly willing to have kits for them, being Whitekit and Rosekit. Milkshadow was exiled for trying to kill Vanillastar. He kept an eye on Whitetuft and Roseleaf, being aware of Whitetuft's secret relationship with a loner. When Shadewing was exiled for poisoning multiple clammates, Milkshadow allowed him to stay with him. Milkshadow and Shadewing later watched Whitetuft adopt Ash and Soot. Milkshadow visited his new grandsons in secret until they become warriors, being told of what Milkshadow and Shadewing had done. Both Ashsight and Sootclaw refused to visit Milkshadow and Shadewing after learning the truth.
