On the left is Spit (short for Spittle),Fizzle's mother. She's rather bubbly for dragons, which for pony standards would mean decently approachable and willing to speak a few words. But she is known for being something of a hog with valuables and like most dragons, has a huge love for violence. She also likes spending most of her time warm in lava baths and eating pheonix eggs. That's how she fell in love with her mate. All those scars and cuts and snarls and sometimes even blood in his teeth fresh from a kill...hot damn.

On the right is Matte, Fizzle's father. He grew up rather low on the dragon social life and had to often eat scraps and whatever he could to survive. As he got older, he got better and more violent at fighting and hunting and through that, started to gain a reputation for being a bruiser. Through that he rose to be of higher respect, albeit while gaining a few scars from his numerous encounters.

The 2 met during breeding season after Matte won her over by dominating over 2 other males fighting for her attention. And then when she managed to even get him pinned to the ground for a moment.

While migrating in the Badlands, Spit soon laid a small clutch of 2 eggs that they were very protective over. One of them hatched, a solid white egg that would be Fizzle (a little odd having albinism, but nothing to worried about. One of them already had an albino relative from one side or the other). The other, they waited weeks after Fizzle's hatching, but...nothing. The egg just seemed dormant. A dud. Unfortunately, they had to leave the egg behind to migrate back to the Dragon Lands with their already hatched son. They buried the egg near the edge of the crater, and took off.

Fizzle had a pretty decent whelphood, having most of the things a young whelp needed, protection, food, and the like. Though he wasn't that particularly goof at fighting to Matte's dismay. Not to say he didn't enjoy violence, he did, and he could defend himself. It just wasn't his immediate instinct like it was for other dragons like Matte. Then he had his molt and had to leave. He met Garble's gang after Garble (unknowingly) saved him from being eaten by a passing hydra. And then I've already explained the rest of his story.

As for the buried egg, it stayed there for a few years until a heavy rainstorm came, dragging the egg from the dirt down the slope of the crater before falling into a passing river, Through there, it wound up in the hands of some ponies, who traded it with some explorers (their original intent was to turn the egg into an omelette) who studied it for a while and through that it fell into the hooves of Princess Celestia. And chances y'all have probably guessed exactly who that egg was...

So yeah, I think Spike was born out of the usual dragon breeding loop, hence why he's the only baby dragon we've seen and the only dragon sort of close to his age is Smolder (who I think was just laid out the usual breeding loop). Had he hatched when he was supposed to, he would be as old as Garble and Ember.

I don't know whether or not if in the Milkyverse, Spike or Fizzle become aware of how they're technically brothers (and how technically Spot and Incandescence are cousins). I think the most so far is one of them probably thinking "huh, funny, we kind of have similar body and scale shapes" and that'd pretty much be it. Spike has no interest in learning about where he came from and Spit and Matte have no interest going to Ponyville, so they probably live in ignorance of the other's existence.
