Last minute print for Clovercon (which is this weekend, yikes!)I just wanted to have at least some representation of this good boy now that I've seen the movie!
Edit: I didn't like the shading on his brows after looking at it again, so I simplified it and now I think it looks better!

Thank you so much!!! I am learning a lot about "gesture" and hoping to try to improve the ones I draw! This was done 100% digitally, which is not something I normally do because I tend to LOSE the fluidity of gestures when I do work on a digital screen. I had no choice yesterday but to work digitally, though (long story!), and I was worried about how this would go. I'm SO VERY GLAD to hear you say this, it means THE WORLD to me that a gesture is still able to be read in something I did digitally.

I get what you mean, though. I have tried many times working digital directly, and while some pieces go well, most of the time it's just easier for me to do a little sketch with all the movement I want from it, take a photo and then use it as a base for my digital painting.
I would love to practise and get to that point digitally directly, since I could also show or do many more sketches withouth having to clean over a photo. But as I said, as long as I put care, I think I'll get there at some point.
I have learnt this mostly from pixel art and animation, since you need to be patient and confident in your potential for both of those

I also really like how you translate characters to disney-like animals. They really remind me of the original characters as if they were official sketches from an scrapped idea.

I did! I didn't like the way the shadows looked on this the first time I uploaded it, and since I wasn't in as big a hurry anymore, I decided to take my time and make it look how I wanted it. And THAT is a definite benefit to digital! xD
I'm glad to hear you also have a similar feeling when you work traditional vs. digital! I hear that eventually one's digital sketching can improve, so I do have faith it can happen. Right now, I'm trying to get back into school, though, and the one I have my eye on only accepts traditional, so I think I will study that a lot more than digital (for now!)
