A new project in progress. I've been working with some red and black clay lately instead of the usual white and found myself suddenly craaving to make some guksi/kåsa inspired clay things and I've been enjoying it lots!

A guksi (Sami) or kåsa (Swedish) is a wooden drinking cup traditionally made by the Sami people, carved from a birch tree burl, one of those rounded growths sometimes sticking out on tree trunks. Sami people, or Sapmi which is also the name of the region, is the indigenous people of northern Norway, Sweden, Finland and the Kola Peninsula in Russia.
