It's when we light fires and welcome the spring, it's actually an old pagan ritual, the fire was seen as a purifying and life-giving element.
The fires devoured that which had died during the winter and new life sprouted from the ashes.
But during the christianization of northern Europe these rituals were loaded with a new religious meaning,
it became a way for the Christian missionaries to chase away heathenism beliefs, witches and evil spirits
and the symbolism of the fires became the Christian conception of purgatory.
I'm sticking with the life-giving, spring-welcoming fires though. ^^
I've been working a bit anyway though, but I don't have much to show you because I've started to make a papier maché tutorial, planning to maybe start a Patreon and sketching on T-shirt designs etc.
So I'm posting nature pics instead.
