Yeah, no, but ... I knew NO spoilers for this game. I teared up when Clive was called out (BECAUSE I REALLY LOVED LEGAL LUKE I FELT SO BETRAYED even though they were totally building up for it, I was still in denial) -- that was a big plot twist for me, among a bunch of the OTHER stuff ("wtf demitri allen?! where's the real future layton?!" "wait, what?! the future is a lie?!! but then what about legal luke.. ?" "...M-M-MY NEW FAVORITE CHARACTER IS THE REAL VILLAIN?!?!" "OH MY GOD HE'S KILLING CIVILIANS!!")... each turn of event was a mind blow! a fatal punch in the gut! another violent toss into the pit of plot devices! by the end, i thought they had already thrown all they could at me -- THEN YOU FIND OUT THAT CLAIRE LKJSHFADSGHDFLG;HA AND THEN THE KISLDFSHGA AND THEN THE HAT COMING OFF AND THEN THE CRYING WAAUGUHGHHDGHL SHJAADFSGHJA HG;HJHFhdfsa;fhas... yeah, no, you'd think that the moment he takes his hat off would be amazing or shocking -- and it is but right at that moment, after you just witness his guard just breaking down, you see how exposed he becomes. When he takes off his hat, it's like he reveals his true self in that very moment of vulnerability. The hat almost becomes like a symbol of where all of his hidden weaknesses, hurts and feelings lie as well as a representation of where he gets his strength and purpose.. after playing through all the games, you get this sense of invincibility about him. He's intelligent! He can fence! He can drive like an expert madman and make huge gliders out of whatever he can find! He can do anything! He's amazing! ... and yet, with his hat taken off, you are reminded that he's human too.. AND WHEN THE PROFESSOR LOSES HIS COMPOSURE YOU CAN'T HELP BUT LOSE YOURS TOO. AAUGUUAUSGAUGHADUFGHADFJGFLGA
In short, I had died. I cannot explain myself.
