"Dell, why are you looking at me like that?" I finally asked.

"Oh, um, sorry" replied Dell, now blushing in embarrassment. "Just...uh...happy you're enjoying the food."

"Yeah, this is great! You really outdone yourself this time, big guy!"

"Anyways, would you like seconds?"

"Not right now, thank you. I feel like I had my fill already. I could use some leftovers for tomorrow though."

"Aw, leaving so soon?" Dell finally asks, feeling disappointed.

I could see that Dell didn't want me to leave and I've been having such a great time hanging out with him but I knew I had to return home eventually and go over my formal lesson again so that it's ready for observation next week.

"Yeah, sorry. Gotta go over some practicum stuff."

"Again?"

"Yeah, gotta make sure it's perfect. I told you what happened last semester and I don't want a repeat of that."

"Yeah, I guess you're right." Dell concedes. "But don't you want to stay a few more minutes for pumpkin pie?"

Dell's tactic worked but little did I know, I was gonna be in for a looooooooooong night.

"Sure, I like pumpkin pie."

"Do you like more than one?"

"More than one slice? Sure."

"No silly, more than one pie."

I realized Dell's intention right then and there but I decided to play along. I was starting to get hard thinking about it.

I chuckle. "Oh alright, you got me. What's a few more minutes?"

"Great! I'll go get the leftovers!"

I became both confused and excited simultaneously. "Leftovers?"

"You'll see. It'll be fun."
