I was trying for a soft look, so your words are ever so welcomed!

Now, I have to confess ...

you sir, have put me in a quandary!

Those white hands are part of the work-in-progress ...

meaning, I didn't intend to leave them as white  silhouettes!

Now, one month later,

(Sorry for taking so long to reply, I had to rush a contest entry)

I am still no closer to a solution!

And guess what, I am beginning to like those hands white too ...

but I need the sleeves to be identifiable as belonging to a certain character,

therefore I have to colour them!

Any suggestions, you who started it all?

What I like about the hands is this: Together, they form the shape of a frame. This could be symbolic of either the photographer, or the artist, or both. From this point of view, the hands are already quite satisfactory.

However, I do take your point about perhaps making it more obvious that one of the hands (the left, as you look at the picture) is attached to the arm of the character looking through them...^^

I've decided to leave the hands white,

and just darken the lower part of the sleeve,

that should be enough to identify the character.

So sorry, had to switch course to draw a contest entry.

I suddenly had an idea for a contest, so had to abandon everything else to work on the entry.

Just submitted it today (deadline is 12 August).
