Day 1 Image 1 - Male Eyes

Today I started a 30 day challenge to learn how to draw and properly get back on track with our artwork. More details to follow in the next couple of days but suffice to say after a long absence I've decided to restart from the beginning and learn how to draw again from scratch.

To help in this I've collected some literature, guides, online articles and vids to help me, today is the first day of the challenge and I've had to learn how to draw eyes. I've spent the day researching and practicing a selection of the vast amount of ways to draw eyes in Manga, and after much trial and error these are the types of eyes that I've decided to use. They are narrower and slightly more realistic than the usual enlarged set of eyes to show that they are for a more mature storyline (I learned from the book "Manga For Dummies" that large Manga eyes are more commonly used for children and young adults because it makes the characters look more innocent/kinder, but since my story ideas tend to be more violent/mature I reckoned it'd be better to make the style likewise).
