This is fabulous! Wow! I just love this!

Merlin is amazingly hot in the corset! I adore it so much!

And Percival and Gwaine and Arthur are all prefect! I'll definitely be checking out the rest of this series as well!

Thank you.

Well, in my head Merlin has been through a trauma in a past life, and that is driving him to subconsciously relive/wear those clothes until he deals with it.  (In the same way, as Arthur being locked in manacles in the French Revolution has made him learn escapology when he was in Victorian times)

I haven't decided what the traumatic past life for Merlin was though...maybe he was reincarnated as a woman and lived in a harem in a past life, or something like that...........I really haven't decided what yet.

No, I've had an idea swilling around in my head for a story, and as I don't write I thought I'd kinda tell it with illustrations.  (Though they won't be in order, and I'll leave it up to the viewer to decide how they go together and what they mean.  )

Can't Merlin's pant get any higher or Arthur's get any lower?

I'd be good if you make this into a series, no need to go on every details, just pics and the main plot, let us do the imagination part.

Can't Merlin's pant get any higher or Arthur's get any lower?    This is a series just for me to play around with stuff, underpants is definitely one aspect of it.

Yeah, that's exactly what I had in mind.  I'm happy to paint eroticism, (and small underpants), but I don't tend to go any further.  And,  I'm not planning on saying what order the pictures go in either, so anyone can make up their own story to fit the "illustrations" and there's no reason why it has to be the same as what is in my head when I'm painting them.

OMG, you are making a series of these?!!!! *dies of happygasm*

I'm trying to come up with a coherent comment to leave because I LOVE this in every way possible and I find myself very intrigued as well.

Gwaine & Percival look amazing in their Victorian clothes. I love how Percy is neatly done up like a gentleman while Gwaine is rumpled and roguish!  Arthur's "swim trunks" are perfect...and the rest of him ain't bad either

Merlin, oh my! I love the way he's dressed and intrigued as to WHY he's dressed that way. I also really like that he's standing apart from the other three, partially concealed and watching them from afar.

Lighting and colour in this are outstanding!

I'm really REALLY looking forward to more

Awww, thank you so much for the encouragement.

Well, a series is the idea.  I kinda wanted to tell a story, but I didn't want to go the graphic novel route and have to show absolutely every scene.  So this seemed an interesting option.

I really like that you picked up on the different characters/backgrounds of Gwaine and Percival from their clothing, that's the sort of thing that I was hoping would come across.

Thank you SO MUCH for your lovely comment, (thinking someone might want to see it gives one the kick to make sure you carry on).

WoW! the detail in this is amazing! I've tried painting but could never get the hang of it... I envy what you can do with a brush! Just outstanding! Especially Merlin...geezzusss *fans self* haha!

Aw, thank you very much!

Yeah, it does take a good while at the beginning to get a hang of a brush.  I produced an awful lot of muddy disasters when I first started.

Ahhh, I remember when you first started making this AU and posted it on LJ (this is fuckyeah btw), so I'm totally glad to see you continue it! I really love all their expressions here (and Percy's muttonchops! <3), but hot damn, Merlin's outfit and Arthur wet and barely clothed is amazing! +_+

It's lovely to see you!  (So much for me saying my days of doing Merlin art were over.  I really thought they were, but I seem to be still stuck on it.)

The first bit of art for this?  That was the absolutely dreadful Arthur poster.  Yeah, I've quietly "lost" that.

Thanks for the nice comments.  (Having Arthur as an escapologist is a good excuse to have him wet and half naked, and Merlin in my AU idea is, *cough*, a bit...erm...free with his favours...   )

Thank you very much.  (The perspective went a bit to Hell in a handbasket, but I was more interested in mood in this one than fussing too much and getting too anal about about the perspective.)

Wow, the lighting in this is really great! I'm especially amazed by how the lighting looks on Arthur's skin. I'm glad you didn't end up covering up the legs like you said you were considering in another comment, since I was thinking the legs/pants/feet look really nice. Also I like how the painting tells a story and how natural everyone's positions look. And the theater looks so pretty and detailed.

ObsidianSerpent In reply to B-gata [2013-09-30 17:27:51 +0000 UTC]

Thank you for such a kind comment!   I suppose I'll never get more comfortable with legs unless I take the plunge and stop avoiding them, (I sound like the Little Mermaid!    )

I'm really glad you thought the character positioning looked natural too.  Many thanks!

No, there isn't a story to go with it.  As I can't write, I had the idea to tell a story via a series of paintings instead.

summerartistart [2013-09-28 15:05:42 +0000 UTC]

The lighting is quite lovely! I love suits, and Gwaine and Percival look great as Victorian English gentlemen. As always, I like the details of the poster edge, the rope, and the golden hued theater. Yay, watertank escapology! I like that you did his one in acrylic. ^_^ *squints* Wait a minute...is that a round table with knights on the edge of that poster?! Of course, I don't have to tell you how well Arthur's wet anatomy came out. *cough* *blush*

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ObsidianSerpent In reply to summerartistart [2013-09-29 08:41:20 +0000 UTC]

Thank you, the lighting and colours are the main thing in this one.  (I was thinking of Edward Hopper paintings like this tinyurl.com/pyr3bd8 ,  ).

Well, it wasn't a round table and knights....but...*squints*...it is now, as that's just what it looks like and is a better idea than the random poster that's actually there.

This one had my worst nightmare in it, legs and feet, I HATE painting legs/trousers and feet/shoes, and this one had three pairs.  I contemplated putting a trunk on the stage so that you couldn't see them, but then decided I had to man-up as a bloomin' big box in the middle of the stage would wreck the composition.
