This is part of a little question I've been wondering about if La Muerte came across one of the kids from the movie in a dire salutation life or death salutation would she walk away not to interfere to let them die or would she help them like some type of super hero?In this scene a mentally unstable woman who is one of the kid's family members has kid napped one of them along with two of her friends. The unstable woman after suffering a drug over dose complication thinks that all the snowmen in Pennsyvinia are out to get her and that her young niece and her two friends can somehow talk to the snowmen. The woman thinks that by fleeing to Central Mexico she will be able to get way from the snowmen who want to eat her or something. So she steals someone's car at gun point along with some weapons and goes on a four day none stop drive with no real food or rest towards Central Mexico.
The thing about deranged people is they can be very dangerously creative when it comes to whatever demons are driving them to do something regardless of how much it boarders into insanity. This means laws and reasoning and saying that it is next impossible for a insane person to do x y and z goes out the window.
Luckily the kids come across La Murute at a gas station pretending to be a street performer. One of the kids remembers what La Muerte looks like and starts calling out her name for help.
The deranged Woman meanwhile is in a convenience store and the people in side the store start getting suspicious of her behavior. This cases the police or at least several people to want to throw her out of the gas station.
La Muerte tells several other people about what is happening and comes over to free the kids from the car along with several other people.
The deranged woman after four days of barely eating and none stop driving along with other things starts thinking that the three kids trapped in the car are snowmen out to kill her. So she comes up with a plan to set the car on fire.
La Muerte however seeing the gasoline being pored all over the car and the parking lot can't use any lightening attacks that might start a fire. So she wrestles with the woman to put the gas pump house down.
The woman then pulls out a gun and shoots La Muerte several times before picking up a road flare.
La Muerte grabs the road flare but woman jumps into the car and drives off down the road. The woman then crashes head on to a moving van and flips over at a railroad crossing.
