Description “ A subspecies of Zinogre with a jet-black body. It gathers bugs that eat Dragonfell Berries and uses their Dragon Element energy to boost its own power. Perhaps this is why it can survive in scorching heat or freezing cold. Becomes even more dangerous when covered in dark. ”– MHWI

Stygian Zinogre (Fulgurocaniops dominus) is a fictional species of saurischian wyvern introduced in Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate.

It was a mutated Zinogre who fell in the abyss, and it was consumed with lots of Dragonfell berries as a result of their bugs and itself into different variants, labeled as subspecies.

Physiology
Stygian Zinogre is mutated Zinogre sporting color schemes of grey, white, and red, dull yellowish fur-like pycnofibers, grey hard plating on its limbs, and is typically larger than normal individuals.

Abilities
Zinogre's thunder-like attacks are different in coloring from the ordinary Zinogre; this crimson red/black lightning deals Chaos-Element damage. It is able to imbue its attacks with Dragon Element due to its absorption of multiple bugs that feed on Dragonfell berries.

These bugs are red-and-black-colored orbs that float around Stygian Zinogre; they closely resemble the Great Thunderbug from previous games. When released, these orbs can fly directly at the Hunter and explode on contact, dealing significant damage.

Behavior
The Stygian Zinogre has to be highly aggressive with other predators for food and territory. Zinogre and Stygian Zinogre, while still easily agitated, aren't as aggressive as most monsters. They will still fight any intruders in their territory, but their imposing presence is often enough to drive smaller creatures away or make them hungry.

Distribution and Habitat
While the common Zinogre inhabits forested areas such as the Misty Peaks and Deserted Island, the Stygian Zinogre inhabits the below-freezing Tundra, Frozen Seaway, and Hoarfrost Reach, along with the scorching Volcano, Volcanic Hollow, and Elder's Recess.
