After that episode my husband and his friends where talking about how was she breathing....I said gills.
So...I LOVE seeing this! XD

You know, this would explain how Pinkie is able to talk for so long and do all that bouncing without having to stop for air. While she's talking on and on, she could be breathing through her gills simultaneously.
And as to how she got those gills, maybe she fell into a vat of radiated sugar, or one of her ancestors was a seapony, or she was granted the gift of having gills for helping the seaponies during a crazy underwater adventure... so many possible stories.
This calls for a follow-up comic, or maybe it'd be better for this to be left to our imagination. :I

Realistically, she could breathe through her ears. Wouldn't sound pleasant, but at least she could breathe.

Actually, with further research, I found she could only breathe through her tear ducts.

The Eustachian tubes in the ears are not connected to open air. So the only way to breathe through her ears would be to puncture her eardrums; the overpressure in the first few moments of trying to exhale might blow out one or both. The lacrimal ducts would allow exhaling, but not inhaling. So I'd say, realistically she went deaf in one ear for a while, then got fixed up with magic.

Since Twilight saw Trixie pull off the snout, she could do the spell in reverse. However, it probably took her a while to consult with the local trauma surgeon to make sure it wouldn't permanently cripple Pinkie's sinuses.
