Just for FunOn boring days when I can't get out with my camera and when I've finished checking all the great images from my friends on DA, I like to play with editing software to see what I can create. Here are some examples. I'm using The Gimp, https://www.gimp.org/, image manipulation software package, enhanced with the G'MIC image processing suite, https://gmic.eu/, for extra filters. The very basic idea is to make a new image in The Gimp, 1000x1000 pixels, and colour it black - easy peasy. Then, I select a paintbrush and draw a shape in white, first image:I used a basic soft brush that has a reasonable degree of blur already in it. Then, I apply some extra blur, in this case a circular motion Gaussian blur. Finally, I apply a G'MIC filter called Gradient Norm using its default values, second image:
