"I'm sorry did you say something?" The towering hulk of scarlet Echidna asked condesendingly, leaning over with his armed crossed over his barrel of a chest. "It's just that I couldn't hear you from all the way down there!"

Sonic raised his head and gave Knuckles a long, flat look of silent disapproval, his emerald green eyes filled with scorn.

"Zo shouldn't be pickin' on za little hedgehog that, Knuckles." Antoine remarked in mock rebuke, adjust the thick leather gloves he wore over both hands. "Ze can not help it if, unlike you and I, ze does not za genes required for tallness."

Sonic twitched, his blue quills along the back of his head and spine stiffening out in indignation and the effort required to keep his composure was visible. He took deep breath, struggling to keep calm and remind himself that all this was just friendly sparing and that he didn't need to take it personally.

"Now now now!" Rotor said sternly looking between the two larger boys from his own position of elevated height over them all. "Sonic might not be the biggest here but when it comes to speed, he more then measures up ... oops!"
