As one of the most recent ('recent' used loosely) things I uploaded before my two-year period of silence here is the first FR piece I ever did , I thought it appropriate to upload this 'new version' first.

This was done for my third anniversary on the site, in April this year; this is the original post . The dragon is “ Vanyalindë (pron. Vahn-yah-LIN-dayh, it's Quenya), my progenitor. As progenitor she's the unrivalled matriarch of the lair and always will be. She's also more or less the most beautiful dragon in my lair.

In the comments of my very first FR art linked above I mention that I was considering the name Ancalima -- Vanyalindë is essentially the same name, so I did end up rolling with that one. I did indeed join that night, officially 10th of April 2015. I had no idea what I was in for. Well, I did, but not entirely.

Vanyalindë is the progenitor and matriarch of Clan Lokenossë; fittingly for her role, she is fiercely protective and territorial, and rarely aggressive. She is rather small for a guardian, at just over eleven metres long, but is highly muscular and heavy for her size. Her wings are comparatively broad; more than enough to lift her compact frame and to accentuate her great presence amongst even larger dragons.

She holds a firm authority over the clan and commands respect and devotion from them. It is mutual, mostly, for she does everything within her capabilities to keep its members safe and content. Though there are dragons appointed to them, she regularly assists in tasks such as balancing the distribution of food and supplies, monitoring the wildlife populations of the territory, and particularly in studying artifacts and othe valuable objects brought to the clan. Vanya, when not ruling at the main lair, is often found roaming the territory, maintaining it and reinforcing its border markers or simply wandering. Some of her idle time is spent furthering her knowledge of Lightweaver and Light’s domain, and of the other regions of the world.
