It's been 13 years, but I still remember the first time I read the comic, the very first chapter. All the uniqueness, world of pirates and all, Shanks and his crew's first appearance, also when they laughed after mountain bandits teased them, how stupidy I laughed my ears off when Luffy ate 'that fruit' without permission, that badass Vice Captain Benn Beckman wiped out a whole group of mountain bandits on his own, Shanks helped Luffy from being eaten by a sea monster and finally, especially, when Shanks gave him that hat. Such simple scene which showed a kid crying his tears out and swore to fulfill the promise between him and the man who sacrificed his own hand just to help a mere little boy, intrigued me to read the series even more.
I'm glad that I'm still following the series. Even much more right now because of this artwork. This brings back my memories. The scene couldn't be much more beautiful and perfect than how this shows it. Many great thanks for making this.
P.S.: Was the art style inspired by Kimi no Na Wa? Or is it just me? Either way, keep up the good work!
