Description
Woah! It does feel great to be inspired to do something once again. It's been 8 months since my last post here, but here I am again. I gotta say, such a long pause was caused not by a lack of time, and even a lack of inspiration was not the main reason. The main reason for my inactivity was inability to make thing that I want in Spore's adventure editor. I probably should try out Blender or something like that, but that's a whole another story. Now, here's a small story to this picture:
"This planet is dead. But not in a typical understanding of death - more like it's strongly infected with some king of a virus, or a parasite. From the orbit, the planet looks completely fine - an overgrown yet toxic paradise, you can expect it to be dangerous yet breathtaking. But no, it's not beautiful in its horrific look: its omnipresent swamps, toxic clouds and water, and carnivorous plants; everything wants to kill you not because it's how it used to live - kill or be killed - it hates you because you're not its part. It kills you to devour you, make you a part of this terrifying mess, to spread its infection further into space.
Although I tend to think that it's not a result of natural evolution. Those overgrown glimpses of dead civilisation could be a hint to an artificial nature of this neverending swamp. Nevertheless, this place is too dangerous to be explored, it must be isolated, put to a quarantine, so it could eventually die out.
The last note about this "planet": it seems to be sentient (!), wherever I went, I felt like the planet has an exact plan, how to murder me. So, if you get unlucky enough to get there either on purpose, or by an accident, always remember - THEY are watching you!"
So, can it be considered a comeback? I'm not sure, however, this work turned out to be kinda good, so I wanted to share it with those, who'd see this picture. Would I continue working over my "robotic planet" concept? There is a chance; you see, this concept was initially inspired by a planet from Darkspore called Infinity. Unfortunately, this game didn't have its chance to explain details, so I didn't really know how could the cyber-genesis be even possible from the point of the game's lore (tbh, I still have no idea about it). However, during my long absence, I familiarised myself with "Space Rangers" games and "A.I.M" games, and now I kinda have an idea, how this robotic "life" can even emerge. But that's for later.
