Sonic and some of the original Freedom Fighters have been captured, Tails and Shadow are missing, and Eggman's Empire has become more stronger than ever before. But there are still those who are willing to fight Eggman even with out Sonic. So Knuckles created the Resistance to combat Eggmans army, but even with some of sonic's most closest and oldest of friends all working together things are still difficult which is why it's always good to have a little more help from some other friends.
