Laughter, I don't know maybe our time has been long gone. Maybe this is the end of the world. I mean lets face it the government is forcing us into the slaughter pit of Vietnam. The Communists are building airplanes that can traverse the Pacific Ocean, complete with the ability to drop nukes on every red-blooded American. Worse yet, we're fighting amongst ourselves! I don't really know though, could just be the way things are.

But even then, even if it is the way things are, what then? Do I just go through with this? Do I just go to the base, salute, and give in to the system? It is the natural order; they've been doing it since the dawn of time. The Greeks against the Persians, the English against the French, hell the entire world went to war twice! We've been fighting since the moment we found out that rocks can kill things. It’s just the way we are as a species. There are too many of us and we have no natural predators anymore. Why not thin the herd? Let the strong survive.

Let the strong survive. That’s an interesting statement. Who’s the judge of that? As I mentioned we have no natural predators, and by Neolithic standards we've been living unnaturally long lives! Heck in the Middle Ages you were lucky to get to 60 barring any incidence or accident. May those be the Plague, or war. Even then though, even if it serves a natural, biological purpose does it make it right?

I for one have never killed; the thought of the thing is grotesque. I don't have dominion over another's life, nor does the government, does Nixon, have domination over mine! Who am I to make the choice over who’s strong enough to survive? If your going to kill somebody you must look into his eyes first, understand what he’s gone through. I just can’t do that.

My dad would say, "Do it it’s for your country." It’s my 'job'. No, my job is to serve pizza at Jimmy's! My job is to get out of this forsaken town and have a decent successful life. Not to die in some foreign country where just going to a bar on your off time is dangerous. Not to end up in a body bag cause of some VK car bomb! My goal is to survive and make a life for myself.

Forget it, just forget it. I have loyalty for my country, but the fact of the matter is this war isn't worth it. Isn't worth the ending of possibility for the schemes of the politicians on the Hill. Isn't worth, my life, my livelihood, and my blood. I'm going to Canada.
