Description Dreaming of Fallujah

Dawn over the city
Chanting from the towering minarets
Echoes of the past
On the quiet, barren desert streets
Thousands pray
Bodies lay prostrate
Cotton robes
As pure as the sand
On the dunes

Soccer on the streets
Boys run barefoot
Two patrolmen in grays, browns, and tans
One throws away his cigarette
Amid the rubble, refuse of a less than forgotten war
While the other scratches the stubble on his dusty cheek

In rags
In rage
Sweaters of blue and white
Righteous bolts of red dynamite
Watches synchronized
On buses, in discotecheques, past a checkpoint
Bodies lay prostrate
Tears
Fire
Blood
On concrete

Mothers’ cries
Rise with a crimson sun
Over the dunes
As a new day begins

Praise Allah and Muhammad his prophet

Dateline-Fallujah

Dateline
April 15, 2004
U.S. warplanes
strafed gunmen
in Fallujah on Wednesday
The tv blares
To the ghosts of a hasty breakfast

On the door step
A newspaper
Bold, black
TRUCE BROKEN
Dull, browning yellow in the sun

Rapid fire
Sprinklers
Bang, bang, bang
As fires blaze
In a war-torn state
Suburbia sleeps

you used some appropriate imagery here to recall a very sad moment in time, and overall, i'd say you did a nice job here.
