Description the toy
by joshua a.

i stand on the sidewalk
cold cement, cracked, weeds emerging
spring is ready to pounce
but the cold breeze still dances over my cheeks
i dont know why i am out here,
but maybe thats i am out here...

i stand and watch the city people
as they go about their daily buisness

the business man buying the paper
checking the NASDAQ

the woman going into the local market
to purchase diapers for her crying child

the children as the mirander to school
laughing, giggling, playing

i remeber days long ago
full of no worry at all
not a care in the air
except the new latest transformer
days so free...

i could be anything i wanted in an instant
superman, an astronaut, a race car driver
dreams and imagination fueled my world
the thought that anything is possible
and the world is mine

the cold breeze sharply wakes me
from this intoxicating dream
as i feel something tumble past my foot
plastic, styrofoam, cup from mikes subs
something lies underneath it almost
hidden, but wanting to be found

i slowly bend, my faded blue jeans tighten
i reach out, brushing away the trash
almost like it were a leaf in fall
underneath standing proudly

red in color, bright, metalic, worn,
cold, sharp, entwined plastic, chrome,
joints, ledges, rubber, heavy

i scoop it up as if it were pure gold
i stare at it for a long time
grazing my large hands across its surface
twisting the joints, the the arms, the wheels
and suddenly for the first time in over a year
i truely smile
