Had zombies on the brain a while back (the worst place to have zombies, really) , so I decided to draw some. Of course, zombies have been pretty much played out to the point where they're not scary anymore, so I decided to try and mix things up a bit and tried coming up with some new twists and variations, something that was unique yet still could be called a "zombie" rather than simply falling under the broad umbrella of "undead".

My favorite is the very last one, the "Angel". With a rictus grin, stringy hair and grisly "wings" made from their own flayed and stretched-out flesh, they seek out mortals who they deem worthy of "salvation". Don't worry about being left behind when they come, though- they are very forgiving.
They are probably the least zombie-like of my zombie variants, at least physically and mentally, in that they're capable of thought, speech, and using tools. They're more zombies in a "spiritual" sense, in that they mindlessly hunt down and turn other humans into more of them. I personally feel like that's what separates a "zombie" from other undead creatures; a creature whose only goal is to increase its numbers by spreading to others, like a virus but deadlier.
