There was a time when Raye and Vikki barely knew each other at the gym, little more than passing courtesies during a workout.

That changed when Allison got the ring more involved and matches began to happen. They admired one another from afar and watched each other grow. Vikki seemed like a natural inside the ring and took to it easily enough, piling up wins early and often with high end mat skills. Her determination was rivaled by few and she just willed herself to win. However, Raye struggled to find her footing early on. Her athleticism took her only so far and she started out slow with few wins in the beginning. Once she got rolling and found her game though, she’s been incredibly difficult to stop.

A turning point really came when they battled each other in only the third match they fought.   Raye really took it too the blue haired fighter and looked very much the part of a force to be reckoned with. She didn’t get the win, Vikki pulled off a late match guillotine to secure the win, but Raye really worked over Vikki with her very strong legs.   Since finding out what a weapon they were, Raye has used them time and again for victories and to strike fear in other opponent.

Since that time they’ve grown very friendly at the gym and, as two of the more accomplished fighters at the JSG, form part of the group that really serves as a measuring stick for many.   There is a reason they are ranked as high as they are.   They are good. One could argue the two of them changed the balance of Allison’s battle with Katie’s team. Back to back wins to even the score and put the momentum back on Allison’s side.

All of that was gone for now. There was a title to be won.

“You ready?” Vikki asked and threw hand out in Raye’s direction.
