Traditional Sketch coloured over digitally of 's goblin characters Cybil and Jabil, originally made as a quick reference for , but I liked it so much I felt like submitting it separately without the palette and to the main gallery.
(Lots of folks appreciate my sketches, hell, some of my quickest sketches get more love than some of my very completed work 😂)

Short Summary
Lore:
Cybil and Jabil are twin orphans and savant mechanics from The Goblin trade City known as The Hub: a den of gamblers, thieves, scrappers, and gangsters; Considered by most to be a glorified junkyard and all around wretched hive of scum and villainy.
Abandoned in their youth, the young twins were taken in by an opportunistic scoundrel and self described entrepreneur by the name of Salazar.

Under his care the twins were given ample opportunities to hone their mechanical skills doing repairs, modifications and other tinkering.
Salazar, called "Uncle Sal" by his young wards, runs a shop, that doubles as a gambling den and poker house by night. Through this venture he often becomes friendly with big shots and well to do gangsters and merchants, who he then funnels to his mechanic and general shops. Despite this arrangement being fairly lucrative, Sal's impulsive nature and risk taking usually leaves the trio in debt.

Full Character Bios
Cybil:
Cybil is the older twin, by a few seconds anyway, but this is enough for her to be the "leader" of the two.
She is level headed and practical compared to her brother, keeping him on task.
In terms of personality, she is justifiably jaded, seeing her unfortunate lot in life for what it is. Always the first to call Sal out for the unfair "wages" and expectations, and even when not directly confrontational, carries herself with an air of condescension, sarcasm, and snarky eyerolls 🙄.

Despite her seemingly cold and insolent demeanor, she is much more shy and reserved than her brother.
Keeping to herself and rarely expressing herself outside of her disagreements with her caretaker.

In her work, Cybil is efficient and single minded, planning and organizing the tasks that need to be done, keeping her brother on track and ensuring quality control is up to her standards.
Her design philosophy is minimalist, efficiency and quality, she has a preference for high quality steel, and is proficient as a welder and smith alongside her mechanical and organizational skills.

Socially, she keeps to herself, writing in a personal journal she keeps well locked and avoiding interactions with any of Sal's customers or nightly patrons more than need be.
Bad experiences have proven to her that this type of seclusion is preferred, as most of the seedy characters that populate Sal's establishments are prone to inappropriate comment, leers and unwanted physical contact.(Which despite her shy and easily embarrassed nature, she will react with a firm strike with her wrench if they've gone too far, much to Sal's annoyance.)

Jabil:
Despite being twins, the two siblings couldn't be more different.
Jabil, the "younger" brother, is the antithesis to his sister in almost every way.
A true savant, his genius is often bewildering, but his focus and common sense are severely lacking.

He barely understands mundane concepts like: fair wages, living standards and child exploitation, or at the very least doesn't care enough to think about them.
Jabil is grateful for his father figure who homes him and admires his Uncle Sal as a great man whose bad reputation as definitely a misunderstanding. He will often make casual justifications for Sal's behavior and moral failings, genuinely believing in his good nature.

Unlike Cybil who uses her work as an escape from the harsh realities of life, Jabil's enthusiasm and passion for mechanical engineering and invention has no cynicism attached.

While Cybil is too shy, Jabil is often overly confident to the point of naivety, he will often make small talk with dangerous folk with little hesitation or fear. The topics of which range from blunt but well meaning questions, observation and shop talk that few people he engages with even understand. He wears an earnest grin almost always and enjoys his life but does feel bad for his sister's dissatisfaction, often trying his best to cheer her up.

Jabil's work is his life, second only to his family in importance, he works chaotically and would likely overwork himself to deprivation if his sister wasn't there to stop him. Working on sporadic inspiration, jabil is known for many half finished projects and concepts, many of which would be world changing if a new more interesting idea didn't peak his interest instead.
He often collects cheap metals like brass and copper, from pence and utensils(Though if his uncle knew he was collecting caps and pennies just for excess metal and not for hoarding he would be more than a little cross.) and has no issue diluting materials and using wooden planks, rusted scrap, and other discarded junk as parts for his creations.

Despite working with sometimes literal garbage, his junk machines are surprisingly functional, alongside his mechanical skills, he loves working with electricity and wiring, his hair often standing overcharged from constantly working near high voltage.
Safety is a secondary concern at best, and he has many scars, cuts and bruises to show for his lack of precaution.

Though he is often kept safe from himself by Cybil, it is not one sided, as he is fiercely protective of his sister, often doing physically demanding or dangerous work that he refuses to let her do(Despite her protestation and -lead engineer- status.). As well as becoming uncharacteristically aggressive if she is threatened or pressured, Cybil finds his protectiveness sometimes treads into the realms of possessive, but ultimately appreciates that she has little to worry when it comes to unwanted advances.

As for his own fancy, he is easily infatuated, often falling for any sweet voice or pretty face that walks in or talks to him. He'll quickly get to work making trinkets for the current object of his affection and shower her with compliments, though he has enough empathy growing up with his sister to never become overbearing or pushy.

Despite their marked differences, Cybil and Jabil are an inseparable pair, even Salazar knows this. Oftentimes considering how much easier it would be to have the gullible and eager to please Jabil doing his work for him, he begrudgingly accepts how necessary his twin is to his success.
