Description
The town was restless. No one could sleep for miles. At ungodly times, people were out walking pets, mowing lawns, painting fences, all with ever growing dark circles under their eyes. A weary man stumbled into the clinic at 5:00 AM sharp, just as it opened. The front desk was a blur behind his unwavering drowsiness, but he was eventually directed towards a small room in the back, where a very sleepy girl opened her tired eyes, waking from a nap. The man slumps into the plush chair behind him and peers over the girl, who lets out a yawn.
"Welcome. I've heard you're having trouble sleeping. That sucks. I love sleeping... Anyways, watch the pendant closely, and let my words fill your mind. Do not think of any other thing into your mind."
The Witch of Hypnosis' voice fills his skull, echoing in the bone casing and reverberating in his brain. She produces a small iron pendant from her sleeve, dropping it in front of the man and swaying it back and forth.
"Let my voice fill your brain. You are so very tired... The swaying of the pendulum is your only sight, my voice your only thought. You wish to sleep... So I will gift you this boon. I will count to ten, and once I say one, you will be asleep, but my voice will still fill your mind... ten... nine... eight... seven... six...five... four... three... two... and one..."
The man falls unconscious, for the final time.
