Incognitomon is one of a trio of Digimon working for a secret research group dedicated to keeping paranormal activity under control. It utilizes an optical camouflage system, but sometimes it fails at the most inopportune moments, causing memories to be forcibly manipulated.

IS THERE NO OTHER CHOICE BUT TO BELIEVE?:
Incognitomon and its siblings began working for humans when they evolved to their Adult stage after absorbing data from cryptids sighted in the human world. Unfortunately, this data was leaked from a computer belonging to a certain group, and fearing the advanced spread of confidential information, they captured the 3 Digimon.
Under the "care" of this organization, the 3 Digimon continued to absorb data and evolved into forms similar to those of their captors who saw potential in the new Digimon... the rest is history...
As a curious fact, some Digital World researchers believe that the cryptids recorded in the confidential data that got young Incognitomon and its siblings into trouble were none other than Digimon projecting themselves into the human world.
