When I was a youngster I used to help my mom with little things around the kitchen in preparation for dinner. It was my humble job to wash the "easy" dishes until they were sparkling new. My mom would be wiping the tables, keeping a careful eye on me and hoping that I wouldn't drop any plates. Then after we were all done she'd always say "sow dong. time to ton siy giy!" in Cantonese- she meant it was time to close down our little restaurant and relax.
