    From a very young age all Cade knew was moving from foster home to foster home. He was the bastard son of a couple who wasn’t ready for a child. It wasn’t until he was eight when he finally ran away from his past. He ran so far that he reached the shady side of town by nightfall. Eventually he ran into a local gang leader who took pity on him and brought him into the ranks where he did minor things in the gang. It seemed that at last his life finally had meaning and order. However, one day when he was ten years old then gang hideout came under siege by an unknown attacker. Cade was ordered to hide in the boss’s office where he would be safe. The gunfire grew closer and closer to the doors of the office and Cade noticed the boss, who he always knew as the toughest guy in the gang, shudder in fear. The doors then burst open and through the cloud of smoke and debris a tall, muscular man in full armor entered the room and shot the two guards by the door. He walked over to the boss, who got knocked down by the blast, and picked him up off the ground. As he did this he heard a faint cough on his left, when he drew his pistol and looked left he saw a small boy, Cade.

“You’re going to want to look away and cover your ears."

    But Cade didn’t listen to the man and sat there shocked and terrified as he killed the only father figure Cade had for more than a few months. The man dropped the lifeless corpse with a thud and turned to Cade. He knelt down in front of him.

“You know these were weak men, if given the opportunity they would abandon you like a bag of trash. My name’s Slade. I can give you something better. Let me teach you.”

    Cade just sat there in silence for a few minutes before deciding there was nothing left for him here. I took the man’s large hand and he led him to train him. For the next few years, Slade treated Cade like a son as he trained him to be just like him. When Cade turned sixteen Slade began to grow harsher with him and was more and more critical with his judgement. It wasn’t until Cade was nineteen when he realized that Slade had just been using him the whole time and that he was just a fall guy who had to deal with all of his mistakes. The only good thing Cade took of out there was the training that he received and built himself off of. After leaving Slade, Cade began to realize all the wrong he was a part of as a child when he witnessed some members of a gang assaulting a woman mercilessly. After he killed the gang members his demeanor changed and he began to dislike criminals more and more because of the continuous disregard for anyone but themselves. So he vowed that he would protect the innocent people the way he was trained and the way he felt the cops were lacking in. He became a walking jury and executioner. Few ever changed his decision to kill them because he could see honesty and his back story in them. Now as he was put on a job for Black Manta with Slade which ends badly, he finds himself pitted against Slade for best mercenary.
