"Cold Distance"...Hmmm, definately the vibe the Lady is throwing out with that look of hers. My goodness, eyes like diamonds that have been trapped in the Ice of a glacier for a few milenia! So yes, we'll keep our distance! The muted tone of the work aids and assists in this feel. If it was brighter, it would be too much. Overwhelming our senses. Here it can dazzle without showing off. The backdrop helps as well. What is it, a linen bedspread? It reminds me of something like a shroud, ready to envelop our Lady for an eternity. Perhaps she's just thrown it off? Could that be the Lady's secret? The wonderful finery in which she is clothed, from the headpiece to the jewel encrusted dress....could that perhaps be a funeral dress. An Ice Queen raised up and ready to Rule. Hmmm, many questions to ponder as I savour Her Beauty. Lovely work.
