The key to this photograph is clearly the use of the color red. The lush vividness of color makes the whole portrait very rich, a sense luxury is imbued across the three dimensions. The red hair feeds the costume into your skin, thus developing a sort of symbiotic relationship between yourself and the surroundings, rather the wearing the costume it is part of you.
The above is aided by your pose. The very sensual expression of the lips and eyes combines with the folds in fabric to create a viewing experience that is more akin to a painting than a photograph.
Finally the framing of your face by the cascade of string and jewellery immediately draws the eyes to the contrast of your pale skin and the surrounding color, a contrast further developed by the heart eye patch. The patches sharp outline makes this immediately obvious ensuring an instantaneous impact to the viewer.

I love the use of all the various shades of red and the way in which they accent your hair and eye and face make up. Very striking stare too makes me wonder what you are looking at.Nicely done red head piece(feathers?) that seems to flow into your waved red hair. Instant fave .
