Description
(Xavis' P.O.V.)"Goodnight, Melissa," I hear myself say from my spot on the balcony outside the princess's room.
"Goodnight," I hear from inside the room. As I look out towards the city skyline I noticed it started to sprinkle, which made the skyline beautiful. Of course, I'm in partial night-vision, so it isn't as pretty for me, though I don't care. I smile, only wishing Melissa was still awake so she could see this with me. Oh well. I lay back, put my hands through my quills, and enjoy the view myself.
I start to notice that a lot of time has passed, and that I'm getting tired. The rain, which is now more like actual rain, is keeping my awake somewhat, but I soon fall victim to sleep and feel my body loosening up as my brain goes to standby, and soon I'm dreaming.
I see nothing. I feel nothing. I don't smell nor hear anything. I can't-... wait... I see something! As I rush over, which seems to take forever, I realize that its a mirror. Not much else. I look at it and become horrified. It's me, as that's what a mirror would refect when looked at, but it's not me. It's the sick, twisted, pure evil version of me that I put in a straightjacket, in a prison cell, in Alcatraz, at the edge of the universe, in a vault, in the deepest darkest corner of my mind. It looked just like me, but with bleeding pitch-black eyes with beady blue pupils; a ripped and torn hoodie stained in blood (same thing with the pants); the fur was dark and blood stained, and a creepy, devilish smile that could scare anyone.
"No, NO!!!" I yell, punching the mirror, which shatters. Good. No longer did I want to look at that thing. Wait... something else is coming! As I prepare for anything that could happen, I'm awestruck by it, by her. It's Melissa, but much older and much more beautiful. Her hair is practically as dark as her feathers and goes far down her back; her beak is and tail feathers are longer; she's much taller, about half a foot taller than me; and she's wearing a larger version of her beautiful blue ballroom dress. She sees me, and seems scared. As I approach her she backs away, becoming more and more scared with every step. I blink, and suddenly she's clutching her right arm, blood soaking her glove. I blink again, and she's on her knees, slash marks across her face. I try to help her, but the closer I get the further she backs away. I blink again, and now she's laying on the floor(?) in a pool of blood, a bite mark visible on her left arm. She is too scared to move now, and I'm too scared to blink again. Then I start to notice a taste of blood in my mouth, but it wasn't my own blood. Now I'm truly scared. I look at my hands, and see the tips of my gloves are sharp and soaked in blood. I look down and see the outfit of it. I'm horrified. I try to run away, but I can't move. I blink one more time, and then she's laying there, lifeless, in a pool of her own blood.
No.
No!
"NO!!!"
I woke up screaming that final no, and found myself inside Melissa's bedroom, specifically her floor. My scream woke Melissa, whom asks sleepily:
"Xavis, what's wrong?"
I back away in fear for my love, as I am still traumatized by the events I've just seen.
"Xavis?" She says attempting to come closer.
"No, no! You have to stay away!" I yell, heading for the balcony, in which I fly off, away from the castle. I hear Melissa call my name, but I don't even look back. All I could think of was to get away from her. As I fly through the dense rain above Station Square, my lack of concentration causes my feet to go out, which sends me plummeting into the gravel below. Suffering only minor cuts and bruises, I run through the various crowds of people trying to go the opposite direction. I eventually find myself in the heart of the woods, and I feel sick at what I've seen. I walk into a small pond near me and wash myself off, trying to comprehend what I've seen, but fail. I decide to check the time, so I look at the clock in the bottom right corner of my eye. 4:32 it reads. I sigh, find my way out of the forest and head home.
(Third-person)
It's been over a month since the incident, and Xavis, with his ability to delete memories, can't remember that night at all. Which is a good thing for many reasons.
Hope you enjoyed!
