Description
Karpo is the sister of Thallo and one of the "seasonal Horae." Karpo is somewhat confusing in attributes; depending where one lived, she could be either a springtime goddess, a late Springtime goddess or Autumn Goddess. I have always accepted her role as an Autumn Goddess, as Winter and Summer are clearly defined to the other Seasonal Horae. In Northern Greece she is spoken as "she who ripens (or in some cases "greens") the grapes for harvesting" and "who walks in procession with Zephyrus and Kore." She turns the leaves and ensures foods are ready for harvest.

Artistically, I have taken reference for Karpo from a couple of favorite sources. for this but the main source I took from the Red Kylix in the German National Museum. She carries a woven amphora basket with houses a thriving vine. I picked transitional colors for her garments, going from the gold of summer, to the purple of Autumn. And being that its clear from literature that Karpo's totem is a hare, I graced the shield with it.
