Description
Tallo be the Goddess of the Spring seasons. The goddess that follows after Khione (Winter) She brings bloom and beauty back to the deadlands that winter ravaged. She is the goddess of gentleness, gardens, flowers, song birds and all that is attributed to the season of spring. As rightly so, she may also be looked at as the goddess of fertility. Walking along with the other three goddesses of the seasons, they are often called The Horae.Despite the fact that there are MANY ancient versions of exactly whom the Horae are and their number, Thallo seems to have existed in most of most of the listings, though even then her attributes vary. As such, there are numerous depictions of Thallo to work with. But in the end, I took mostly from the famous Red Figure Kylix, as its one of my favorite depictions. While apple blossoms are not directly attributed to the goddess, I felt confident to add them, as they are a spring bloom. Here with divine power, she manifests the blossoms from her hands, The choice of color I chose to match the pastel colors of Spring as well as the apple blossoms. With just a touch of green in her girdle and her tightly woven headdress (hard to see under the veil.) As no REAL animals were ever given attribute to any of the Horae, I left the shield plain, with just a frame of leaves.
