Your consciousness went in and out, leaving you in pain and having no idea how much time was passing. You saw images flash past your vision in fleeting, painful streaks of harsh color.

  You were in the woods, moving quickly. Someone was talking to you, but you couldn't understand what they said.

Then, you were in a room you didn't recognize, with faces looming over you. You knew them, and yet you couldn't think straight, there was so much pain.

There was one moment when you had been completely conscious, and everything hurt. Your eyes flew open, and you cried out. There was a searing pain where you had been stabbed. Tears burred your vision, and someone's hands were pressed on either side of your face to keep you from moving. Voices blended, and spread over you in a shower of confused noise. You whimpered again, and could feel someone carding their fingers through your hair, trying to calm you. Just as quickly as you had awoken, you lost consciousness again.

Then you sank deeper into your own pain-twisted mind, and fell where no one could catch you. Everything was black. There were the same voices from before. This time they were different. They were, if possible, filled with even more hatred and malice than before. Your body was being ripped apart by just their voices. You wanted them to stop... But they wouldn't. They went on relentlessly, pounding you with words that scratched at the darkness and made you cower.

  It hurt... Stop... Stop...

Please...

  And then the pain was gone. You had your eyes closed, and you lay on something soft. You could hear something like waves somewhere in the background. The air smelled sweet, and was colored by something that smelled like... The ocean?

At this thought, you opened your eyes. You stared up at a perfect sky. Sitting up, you saw you lay on a cliff edge, lush green grass swaying around you. Your cliff looked out over a beach, the waves lapping gently against the sand. As you stood up, a familiar voice said "Beautiful, isn't it?"

You turned around. Surprised at who you saw, you didn't respond for a minute. "Yeah, I guess it is."

(Name) smiled vaguely. You stared at her for a moment, before saying "Why are you here?"

This time, her smile was slightly bitter. "Where to begin? Well, let's start simple." She sighed, and sat down in the grass, gesturing for you to do the same. You sat, and looked expectant.

"When we, er, separated, I left, right?" (Name) said cautiously. You raised an eyebrow, but nodded. That wasn't quite what happened, but you were willing to let it slide. She breathed a sigh of relief, and continued. "And we share the same emotions, and can feel each others'. Well, we are the same entity, and..." She huffed with frustration, and raked her hand through her hair.

"Well, what I'm saying is that when you," She made a vague but very gruesome hand-gesture. "You came about half way closer to taking me back."

You blinked at her. "Take you back?"

"Yes. As in, becoming the same entity again." You nodded slowly. "And do you think we should do that? Become one and the same, I mean."

(Name) gives you a slightly sheepish smile at this. "Actually, we kinda have to. I sort of... Used all my energy getting us to common ground between our minds. Either we do this, or..." She trailed away. You finished for her. "I don't wake up."

She nodded. You huffed, and after a a pause, said "So how do we... Merge?"

"Well..." When she had explained, you stared at her. She couldn't be serious.
