Rootstar was born in the middle of a harsh winter, he had two brother which had died in weeks of there birth. When he was a kit he was known for the trouble he caused. He once lead a kit patrol into oakclans territory to seize land for his clan. Rootkit also was a rebellious kit he almost never followed any rules, and didn't care to pay attention to lectures. but his rebellious nature was put on hault when his mother had gotten sick, and eventually died. His dad had died before he was born, so he didnt have anyone to parent him. Rootkit had realized he needed to shape up, and started to replace his rebellious attitude with a loyal one.

by this time rootpaw had shaped up to be a fiercely loyal cat, but he was a bit snobby at times. His mentor was the calm headed bristletail, the deputy at the time.
